Half of Montana is missing; the Great Lakes are disappearing, and Nevada is gone altogether.
This is the tired, worn down state- no pun intended- of the United States map at Sigsbee Park located at 1250 Sigsbee Street SE in Grand Rapids.
On Friday, September 24th, the AmeriCorps team from the American Red Cross of Greater Grand Rapids joined forces with Griffin Properties and community volunteers to bring a fresh new look to Sigsbee School Park.
The playground buzzing with activity, fresh cans of paint cracked open, and new, clean brushes dirtied. Fifteen volunteers and staff members could be seen working hard and having fun around the playground.

Not only did the map get repainted with vibrant colors, but the playground was also cleaned up.
Some volunteers wore gardening gloves to tackle the playground. Others crawled on hands and knees to repaint the pavement. In the span of six hours or less, Sigsbee Park was rejuvenated through the dedication of volunteers and employees alike. It is not just the schoolchildren of Southeast Academic Center that will benefit from this project, but the whole community.
