GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM)- There's a new project going on in Eastown called "Heart work is Hard work."
The American Red 
Volunteers are going door-to-door starting Saturday at 9:00 a.m. They will be hanging blooming flower baskets from each tree in front of homes.
"Heartwork is Hardwork" hopes to offer other ways for community members to volunteer in neighborhoods they may not necessarily be familiar with.
"To be able to really give back to the neighborhoods by providing baskets and giving out good information about the Red 
"It's a way for us to engage not only residents of the community, but also new homeowners and engage them in the community through acts of service and also reach out into the community and do some innovativeprojects, "added American red Cross Americore Program Director Jordan O'Neil.
There are two projects planned monthly. One project is strictly for those under the age of 24, the other project is open to participants of all ages.
"Heartwork is Hardwork" plans to rotate work throughout the various neighborhoods in the city and is also looking for more beautification project ideas.
