                          Heart Work is Hard Work

One Grand Rapids’ real estate group is showing us what it means to put their heart into the community – and doing it with a little boom and lots of blooms.

A unique partnership will send local volunteers from both Griffin Properties and the American Red Cross of Greater Grand Rapids into the Eastown neighborhood this Saturday to hang 90 flowering baskets from the boulevard trees on 4 residential blocks while also distributing life-saving home safety information and Red Cross literature.

For more than 5 years, Griffin Properties has been serving residents of the Eastown neighborhood in their real estate needs, and this project marks the beginning of a year-long endeavor to show that their commitment to the community goes well beyond the closing.

Realtors sell the benefits and aspirations of our communities. They are also our neighbors and know about local needs. And as neighbors, they share the desire for our communities to be great places to live, and they are committed to giving back.

Are you also looking for ways to give back to your community, to meet your neighbors and make your neighborhood a safer, more enjoyable place to live and work?

Griffin Properties is stepping up to meet some of the challenges of our community head on; they are committed to “Getting Things Done for Grand Rapids” but they need your help.

Throughout the yearlong partnership, the American Red Cross of Greater Grand Rapids is committed to working with Griffin Properties to complete 24 full day community service projects with various area nonprofits.

The kick-off event will officially take place this Saturday, August 21st from 9:00am-12:00pm and volunteers are asked to meet at the Eastown Community Association, located at 415 Ethel Ave. S.E. in Grand Rapids.

If you’re interested in becoming involved with the “Heart Work is Hard Work” project, please contact Jordan O'Neil at 616.456.8661 X 3503 or service@ggr.redcross.org
