Griffin Cares | Gilda's Club
The Griffin Cares Community Partnership Team made up of Cherry Health AmeriCorps members recently volunteered at Gilda’s Club, an organization that specializes in providing emotional support services to people suffering from cancer and grief.
Seventeen team members served at Gilda’s Club. Gilda’s Club provides its services to those who have been diagnosed with cancer. They also provide grief support to those who have lost family and friends to cancer, and recently they have begun to expand their services to provide support to people who are suffering from grief that is not related to cancer. All of their services are provided completely free of charge.
Our team volunteered in the kitchen and made baked goods for the dinners that Gilda’s Club serves to its visitors. Gilda’s Club features extensive gardens for visitors to enjoy while they are at their facility, so members helped with the upkeep of the grounds by raking leaves and tending to gardens.
The Griffin Cares Community Partnership Team was able to help lessen the substantial workload of this fantastic organization that provides vital services to the city of Grand Rapids.
